    Landmines

Sunday, October 28, 2007, 04:19 AM GMT [General]

Our enemy places landmines along our paths everyday to take our focus off the Lord. Instead he wants us to only focus on ourselves, and he will use thoughts of discouragement, insecurity, fear, and jealousy to do this. God is primarily interested in one thing: He wants us to focus on Him and His will for our lives. When our thoughts are wrapped in Him , He provides the discernment we need to locate the enemy's landmines and defuse each one as we turn from temptation and sin. The Devil's primary goal in the life of the believer is discouragement. Finally, Satan wants us to succumb to doubt and fear.

We are in a war. If you were in Iraq fighting for your country there would be know doubt in your mind that Laziness, would get you killed. Not using the strategies you were given to be successful, would get you killed. Doing things your own way, would get you killed. Not being in one accord, would get you killed. Gods strategies for this spiritual war are guaranteed. If you choose not to obey What our Commander says, then we cannot expect to be victorious. Pride, will get you killed.

How do you discern and uncover the landmines of the enemy?

    1. Surrender your life to the Lord. Your relationship with God is the most important line of defense that you have. On God's battlefield, surrender is not waiving a white flag, but is a bold step taken toward victory, peace, and blessing.

    2. Ask Him to teach you His truth. In Ephesians 6 God says to put on the full Armour of God. The sword, the Word of God, is our only offensive weapon He has given us and it is all we need. It is the same weapon Jesus used when facing temptation.

    3. Be committed to following Him, even in times of difficulty.

    4. Ask the Lord to give you godly discernment and wisdom. Prayer is absolutely essential in avoiding landmines. And knowing how and what to pray for is crucial.

If you are not interested in knowing Him and His ways, then you are already standing in the middle of a minefield, AND THE NEXT STEP COULD BE DEADLY.

Ask the Lord to make His will clear to you - and to teach you to follow His voice. I beseech you to go to church, be active in service and always be in prayer.

Much Love to all my brothers and sisters.

Indeed it is a minefield but unfortunately most of us don't realize that we are bogged in it! May we all awaken to our circumstances and embrace surrender to our Lord so we can be saved.
